It's been a busy busy year for my Sandwich Generation family and myself. My senior mom is working hard to stay active as much as she can, health-permitting - walking faithfully on her treadmill, enjoying errands at Walmart, cooking her favorite soups, and mailing cards and coloring pages to her great-grandkids.

Speaking of grandkids, my local grandchildren and I have been busy with homeschooling projects, roller skating, an old favorite - checkers, and learning about the interesting new-to-us world of the Minecraft game - under very close supervision, which I highly recommend to any parent or grandparent who's little ones are playing Minecraft.

New Year Fun for Grandparents and Caregivers in The Sandwich Generation

A bright and beautiful new year (chilly too - for many of us :) ), full of hopes and dreams, many changes and many more things staying the same. This is as true for all of us in the Sandwich Generation as it is for everyone else.

At SandwichINK, you'll definitely notice a little bit of a change due to all the changes in my own Sandwich Generation family. I'll still be posting quite a bit, just not daily. But you'll still find plenty of resources and encouragement there to help all of us multigenerational caregivers - helping our senior parents while raising our children or babysitting our grandchildren.

You'll also continue to be blessed with encouraging Bible verses, uplifting praise and worship music, and visits periodically to holiday blog party fun, along with interesting "social events" online like Pink Saturday, Rednesday, and more. It's hard to believe it but tis the season to say

MERRY CHRISTMAS 

to all of us in the Sandwich Generation!

My grandkids and I have started decorating my senior mom's and my Christmas tree slowly but surely.

This year, it has to be slow since the Sandwich Generation issues of life are keeping us busier than ever - from health issues to extra babysitting needs to my senior mom's needs and more.

You can read more about those issues, along with plenty of resources, ideas, and tips to help with them and plenty more to help all of us multigenerational caregivers from encouraging our senior parents using iPads to having fun with easy crafts for kids and seniors. You'll also find comforting Bible verses and uplifting praise and worship hymn songs and music to encourage all of us caregivers and our families, along with this year's "A Pause in Advent," which we've enjoyed the last few years!

Can you believe Autumn is half-way over. And based on the weather in our Sandwich Generation neighborhood, it's actually further than that. We didn't quite get snow before Halloween, but it happened only a few miles away! 

And boy, you'd think the year was wearing jet-propelled roller skates the way it is flying by. Primarily because grandkids and senior mom are keeping me busier this year then ever before I think!

My senior mom continues to enjoy s-l-o-w-l-y learning how to use her iPad, while the grandkids and I are having a blast playing outside in the leaves when the weather allows.
